Zelda Movie
Hello, hello, good reader! Welcome to my very first article. I'm still adjusting my style from overlord-goth-novel to chipper columnist, so if I start to drag on about dragons or something stupid, bear with me – I promise you won't regret it.
Now, on to the topic. The other day, I was watching Ninja Scroll, when a thought it me. There never has been a Zelda movie! Back in the 80s Link had his own anime series (thus the connection), but never a big-screen birth. Woe of woes.
Certainly I would love to see some terrific monster-slashing, sword-fighting Zelda action – who wouldn't? But I still give the idea a thumbs-down, for a number of reasons. Firstly, considering the graphics trend lately, we'd likely end up watching Clay-mation. Secondly, I don't think Hollywood can offer the right actors. Even if the movie were to be animated, there's still the issue of voice work. I don't believe anybody could quite capture that perfect Sheik tone I've always imagined. Finally, I realized that Link never speaks in any of the games. How could a movie be any good, if the main character never says a word?
So, there's my opinion. Possibly, with some Peter Jackson directing and about ten years of screenplay writing, I could be swayed. In the meantime, I'll stick to replaying Ocarina of Time and Majora's Mask, homework, and writing more articles for Maximum Zelda.
Thanks for reading, have a nice day.
